Monday Wednesday Friday – Midday Vinyasa Yoga Break 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM
Enjoy an invigorating midday yoga class to keep you going all day long. A slower-paced flow is the perfect respite to counter the bustling activity of the workday, designed to get you in and out with a clear mind and strong body. Learn to use your lunch hour to reset your mind and body for the busy afternoon ahead. Instead of heading out to lunch with coworkers or eating at your desk, grab the work clan and recharge with a yoga moving meditation to connect with your breath, body and mind.
Tuesday Wednesday Thursday – Rise & Shine Therapeutic Yoga 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
In this class, students learn how to safely explore their edges with the intelligence of good alignment while turning their curiosity inward. Principles of anatomy and bio-mechanics, yoga philosophy, and the science of yoga optimize your experience on the mat so you can feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. Students learn to listen within and deepening their connection to their own flow of energy, while combining precision, technique and rhythm with a focused mind. A beautiful way to start the morning!
Thursday – Evening Alignment Mechanics & Strength 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Carol Ann’s personalized sessions will focus on the particular needs of your body, designing a hybrid of strength, mechanics and therapeutics specifically for you. This class centers around the breath, focused alignments, and practicing from a place of higher Self. Each class will focus on optimal alignment to maximize energy flow and empower you to experience greater stability, freedom, and ease in the asanas (postures). Classes will include foundation poses, movement connected to breath, and sequences that build strength, flexibility & body awareness to work towards more advanced poses. Verbal cues, hand-on adjustments, and modifications will be offered. Therapeutic Alignment Mechanics & Strength classes offer the opportunity to explore your individual form connect to our community (sangha).
Friday – Relax & Restore Happy Hour Yin Yoga 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM
This relaxing Yin Restorative Yoga Practice balances the stress of busy lifestyles by tapping into the Yin restful energy within, opening up deep into the connective tissues and the issues within the tissues by resting in a posture for up to five minutes. This practice balances the nervous system, reduces stress and anxiety, and is great for recovery of illness or injury by releasing deeply held tensions.
First Thursday – Balance Yoga Workshop 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Standing poses are the building blocks of a yoga asana practice. They represent our ability to be grounded, to stand on our own feet. Through the practice of standing poses, the body becomes strong and articulate and the mind becomes alert and focused. Balance is a very powerful tool for a practice aimed at making the practitioner more conscious through mind, body and breath connection to our higher Self. Carolyn will lead you through an alignment-oriented balance workshop, which is designed to help you gain the strength and skills necessary to cultivate balance physically and mentally. The focus is on holding balancing postures in correct alignment and steadiness in transitions from one posture to the next.
Third Sunday – Yoga Nidra Deep Relaxation 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Relax on deeper levels with a short Yin class followed by Yoga Nidra, you will be guided into the Yogic sleep state of consciousness with calming music, words and singing bowls. Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) has the power to transform you at core subconscious levels. It is a systematic method of complete relaxation through each layer of our Self, physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual Koshas (layers). Saturday – Iyengar On the Wall Workshop 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Want to mix up your yoga practice? Try this yoga workshop that focuses on correct alignment through ropes and anchors. Working with ropes is referred to as Yoga Kurunta (a Kurunta is a puppet in South Indian theater). We will do standing poses, spinal traction, spinal rejuvenation, inversions and lots of creative tricks the clever wall can teach us. The late, great B.K.S. Iyengar used knotted ropes and anchors for improving alignment for more than 70 years. The ropes bring students’ bodies back into alignment in a very gentle way, they act as a physical therapist, chiropractor, and massage therapist in one. Students can feel the correct alignment on the wall, and this translates to the floor to improve their daily yoga.
